Dornier supports performance assessment of South African power plants
The National Treasury of the Republic of South Africa has appointed an international consortium led by the vgbe energy association to conduct an independent assessment of the operational situation of the state-owned utility Eskom. As Dornier, we are very pleased to be part of this consortium and to have the chance to contribute to this assessment.
The services provided include a review of coal-fired power plants with regard to performance, operation and maintenance as well as a skill assessment and advise on operational improvements. Also, a review of the electrical networks is part of the work. The assignment is going to be completed by mid-2023. The results of the study are expected to foster the improvement of South Africa’s tight electricity supply situation in the near-term.
