Founding of the ORGREB Institute for Power Plants

VPC GmbH is originally founded as ORGREB in Vetschau, Brandenburg, East Germany.

Founding as planning consulting division within Dornier GmbH

Having so far concentrated on complex aerospace engineering tasks and the related project management, a separate “Planning Consulting” division is established within Dornier GmbH in 1962 to support clients in planning and executing investments and organizational projects.

Founding of VEAG

With the foundation of VEAG Vereinigte Energiewerke AG, the ORGREB Institute becomes part of VEAG and is renamed IfK Ingenieurunternehmen für Kraftwerks-, Energie- und Umwelttechnik.

Spun off

The Planning Consulting division is spun off as an independent company, initially trading as Dornier SystemConsult, and the entrepreneurial and progressive thinking of Claude Dornier, the company’s founder, now defines the corporate culture.

Rebranding

IfK GmbH is rebranded to VEAG PowerConsult (VPC), with the business object of marketing VEAG’s know-how from its core business around the world.

EADS

Dornier SystemConsult is integrated into the EADS Group and rebranded as Dornier Consulting 2 years later. New offices are opened in Abu Dhabi, Russia, Poland and South Africa.

Acquisition by Vattenfall

VEAG is acquired by the Swedish energy group Vattenfall and VPC integrated as its own engineering company. Since then, VPC has continued to build on its experience in the operation and maintenance of power plants and power generation facilities.

Founding of Suntrace GmbH

Suntrace is founded in Hamburg, the location of Germany’s largest renewable energy cluster.

Acquisition of VPC GmbH

VPC GmbH is acquired by the palero Group and becomes independent in terms of both suppliers and operators, pledging itself exclusively to the needs of its clients.

Acquisition of Encotec Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd.

VPC pushes ahead with internationalization and acquires 50 percent of the Indian company Encotec Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. based in Delhi. Encotec’s portfolio comprises O&M management of power plants, supply of photovoltaic systems and trading of Chinese spare parts for power plants.

Founding of conwico GmbH

Conwico GmbH (“Construction with Competence”) is founded in Vetschau, Brandenburg. Conwico provides turnkey project implementation under EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) models.

Acquisition of Dornier Consulting International GmbH

Dornier Consulting International GmbH, with its focus on the areas of mobility, real estate and water, is acquired by the palero Group.

Acquisition of Suntrace GmbH

palero Group acquires 50 percent of Suntrace GmbH to complement the company’s activities in the field of renewable energies and solar energy in particular.

Founding of VPC Nukleare Dienstleistungen GmbH

Effective January 1, 2020, the Nuclear Services division was spun off from VPC GmbH to form a separate company, VPC Nukleare Dienstleistungen GmbH (VND).

Consolidation of all companies in the Dornier Group

All of the above-mentioned companies become members of the Dornier Group, creating a comprehensive infrastructure service provider capable of handling tasks in the key infrastructure sectors of construction and operation, energy and the environment, renewables, mobility, nuclear services, water and real estate.

Acquisition of IBS Technik GmbH

IBS Technik is acquired and merged with Conwico into Dornier Construction and Service GmbH (DCS).

One-brand strategy of the Dornier Group

All legal entities will be integrated into the Dornier Group as business units and will all operate under the Dornier Group umbrella brand.
