The Nuclear Services business line has 12 radiation protection specialists (VGB) who have expert knowledge in the field of radiation protection, and also in crane operation, materials moving equipment and decontamination.
Their main areas of activity are radiological orientation measurements for release of buildings from regulatory control (“clearance”) and decision measurements for clearance of railings/buildings, as well as workplace monitoring, specifically room air monitoring, contamination carryover monitoring, and incorporation monitoring. They are also deployed in contamination control in the areas of water measurement and leakage monitoring. In addition, their services include success verification of decontamination work by radiological measurements, lock operations, work preparation and support, and the handling of CASTOR casks. The experts have extensive experience with the KKU, KKS, KKP and GKN nuclear power plants.
The radiation protection workers have different professional backgrounds with up to 5 years of professional experience. They are, among others, trained biological-technical assistants, chemical laboratory assistants, specialists for protection and security, mechatronics technicians, foremen in metal working, and graduate biologists.
