Aliya Baidebekova is the Head of the Central Asia/Kazakhstan Mobility Branch and an expert in mobility and urban development.
Ms. Baidebekova has many years of experience in providing strategic and technical advice on mobility and urban development as well as business development.
She is an expert in public procurement, MFI project identification and management, monitoring and evaluation. Her client base mainly includes MFIs, central and local government and utility companies.
From 2019 to 2021, Ms. Baidebekova served as Project Manager in an EBRD regional project, providing technical assistance for the creation of transport and economic corridors in Central Asia and Mongolia, with a focus on gap assessment and policy dialogue support. She was responsible for data collection and analysis, stakeholder consultation, surveys, preparation of gap analysis reports and quality assurance.
Ms. Baidebekova lectures in programming languages, project management and urban transport.
Ms. Baidebekova has an MBA and a diploma in systems engineering. She subsequently worked as a project manager in the energy, water and transport sectors at the EU Delegation in Kazakhstan/Central Asia.
