Jörg Appelt is Head of Department in the plant engineering sector of our Power and Heat business unit and an expert in layout planning.
As a graduate process engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) in the field of plant and process technology, Mr. Appelt and his team are responsible for consulting and planning in plant, layout and piping design. He is an expert in the construction and modification of process systems, with a focus on the layout planning of power plants and industrial facilities, and deals with studies, pilot plants and operating regulations, as well as being responsible for managing and coordinating projects. In the field of piping design, he also prepares cost estimates, hazard analyses and operating instructions, and accompanies the implementation of pipeline projects.
His customer base chiefly comprises industrial companies, municipal utilities and energy providers.
From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Appelt was in charge of the layout planning for the Hamburg-Moorburg new-build power plant project (2x827MW). Since 2020, his activities have primarily involved the layout planning in Berlin-Charlottenburg (gas turbines) and activated carbon proportioning systems in various power plants in Lusatia. He is also responsible for the award procedure and project supervision in the Berlin-Neukölln combined heat and power plant project.
Mr. Appelt graduated in engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from TU Dresden, and was subsequently head of the plant technology division and project engineer at eta AG Schwarze Pumpe.
