After Stromnetz Hamburg GmbH had taken over from Vattenfall the operation of the public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Hamburg, the grid operator set itself the goal of introducing a non-discriminatory payment method. This should also enable “spontaneous users” not having a traction current contract with an energy supplier to use the public charging infrastructure in Hamburg.
Dornier Consulting conducted a market study to examine available payment methods and their costs, providers and current trends in this area in Germany and Europe.
