The existing sanitary infrastructure has reached its limits in many areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The sewerage network in many places has reached and in parts has even surpassed its design capacity. The master plan identifies the status of the existing assets, rehabilitation requirements and addresses the future requirements for investments for the Sanitary Engineering Services, including the Sewerage, Surface Water Drainage, Wastewater Treatment and Reuse of Treated Sewage Effluent and Sludge.
