Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) was incorporated in 1985 as a public limited company under the auspices of the Government of Gujarat (GoG). The company is engaged in the business of electrical power generation. The company hast its registered office at P.O. Petrochemical, District Vadodara, Gujarat. It commissioned its first power project, a 145 MW gas based combined cycle power plant in February, 1992 at Vadodara.

GIPCL has set up the Surat Lignite Power Plant (SLPP)  2 X 125 MW circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) units at Mangrol, Surat, Gujarat, India.
