The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) provides funding for the most efficient economic clusters in Germany over a period of max. 5 years, which have previously been identified within the framework of the so-called Leading-Edge Cluster Competition. The Electromobility Cluster South-West entered the third round of this competition in 2011.

EnBW AG, itself an important partner within the cluster, commissioned Dornier Consulting to significantly support the creation of a cluster outline document.
