General planner for the new construction of the Lichterfelde gas and steam turbine plant
Overview
Vattenfall Europe Wärme AG has been operating a combined heat and power plant at the Lichterfelde site in Berlin since 1973. To ensure continued reliable supply of electricity and district heating to the south of Berlin, Vattenfall is building a new combined heat and power plant and a hot water generator at the site. The overall project contains more than 20 individual lots. The CCGT plant, as the largest lot, will be built by Iberdrola (Spain) under a turnkey contract, with a gas turbine from General Electric.
Dornier Power and Heat supports the project and acts as architect engineer.
