Modeling and Groundwater Assessment of Umm Er Radhuma Aquifer
Overview
The availability of water is very important for the further development of the countries with scarce water resources on the Arabian peninsula. Especially, against the background of ever increasing water consumption (e.g. for irrigation) it is crucial to gain knowledge about the existing groundwater resources and the needs of the population for water. The subjects of this project was the assessment of the groundwater resources in the Umm ErRadhumaaquifer and overlying formations with a storage volume of more than 70 km³ of potable water, and a regional water management plan.
