The fossil-fueled Unit R at the BoxbergPower Plant site with an output of 675 MW went into operation in 2012. In 2017, tests were started within the scope of the service life monitoring of thick-walled components. In this context, VPC GmbH’s ISO 17025 accredited materials testing laboratory carried out metallographic tests on the components to assess creep damage.
