Start / Referenzen / Strategic Water Storage and Recovery Project
Overview
Customer
Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD), UAE
Location
United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi (Location confidential)
Duration
2008 – today
Seasonal overcapacity of the production of desalinated seawater on one hand, and the lack of large storage facilities for drinking water – like dams – on the other, make artificial storage/recharge and recovery (ASR) of groundwater with desalinated seawater an obvious and strategically important choice for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Once implemented, this project will represent a benchmark for water management in desert regions, capable to redefine international standards.
