Overview
Customer
Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture (MEWA), KSA
Location
Saudi Arabia Wasia-Biyadh-Aquifer
Duration
2008 – 2011
The study focuses on the groundwater resources stored in the Biyadh-Wasiaaquifer and the Arumaaquifer. The study will provide three important water resources management tools: a hydro-meteorological monitoring network, a water resources GIS, and a three-dimensional numerical groundwater model. Detailed field surveys, e.g. a well inventory, a review of monitoring network, surveys of specific abstraction areas, will provide important input for the geological and hydrogeological model. A new fully telemetric monitoring network was installed, consisting of 18 groundwater monitoring stations, 7 meteorological stations, 45 rainfall stations, 7 wadigauge stations, and a base station for data retrieval and storage.
