The subject of this project is the feasibility study for developing additional / new groundwater resources for the future water supply of Riyadh.
Therefore, three existing well fields (Nissah/Al Hair, Wasiaand Hunnai) have been investigated regarding their potential extension capacities. Based on the investigation results, numerical groundwater models were set up to investigate the extension capacities. Finally, business cases for the four well fields compared the costs and benefits of the respective development concepts. In a second stage, the extension of Wasiawell field has been investigated in detail, two test wells have been drilled, constructed and tested as well as tender documents for a design-build project have been elaborated.
