Energy efficiency measurements on the Unit A turbine generator of the Schwarze Pumpe Power Plant
Overview
Lausitz Energie Kraftwerke AG operates a power plant at the Schwarze Pumpe site with a rated electrical output of 2 x 800 MW. Dornier Power and Heat was commissioned to carry out measurements to determine the specific heat consumption of the turbine generator of Unit A after completion of an overhaul. The aim was to demonstrate the performance enhancing effects of low-pressure turbine retrofits. A measuring scope of approx. 120 test measuring points was defined and carried out, using calibrated precision measuring technology. The pressure and temperature measuring instruments were calibrated in Dornier Power and Heat’s own calibration laboratory. The results of the evaluation were presented to the client in a summary report.
