Vibration tests on gas turbine generators
Overview
In a gas turbine plant in Algeria, two of the three turbine generators exhibited increased vibration levels shortly after commissioning.
Based on the stored online vibration data, Dornier Power and Heat was able to analyze the history of the vibration curves since initial commissioning. Based on the results, Dornier Power and Heat performed modal and operational waveform analyses at all three plants to determine the dynamic behavior.
In cooperation with the system manufacturer, actions were defined which subsequently led to safe operation of the three turbine generators.
