Maintenance of the Moorburg CHP Plant
Overview
The Moorburg Combined Heat and Power Plant, commissioned in 2015 and fueled by hard coal, is one of the most efficient fossil-fueled power plants in Europe and can generate a maximum of 2 x 840 MWel or 650 MWth.
At the typical operating point of the plant, a gross electric output of 2 x 827 MWelis generated and a district heating output of 2 x 120 MWthis delivered. Since the end of 2016, the Moorburg CHP Plant has been supplying process steam to the neighboring refinery.
