The new combined heat and power (CHP) plant Berlin-Marzahnwill be a natural gas fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant equipped for the cogeneration of district heating. The heart of the plant is an SGT5-2000E gas turbine.
From 2020, the new CHP plant will supply both district heating and electricity to the eastern districts of Berlin. The plant has an electrical output of 260 MW and a thermal output of around 230 MW.
VPC supports the client in contract awarding, providing the connection points, engineering, quality assurance, cogeneration promotion schemes and acceptance of works.
