Munich Airport built a new satellite terminal in order to increase its passenger capacity. 52 new gates with 27 new aircraft stands were added. The expansion program included the satellite terminal, the baggage handling system, the passenger transport system (PTS), passenger boarding bridges and aprons. Total capital expenditure for the satellite terminal was about EUR 650 million. The new build project was completed in April 2016 on time and within the budget.
