The virtual Sino German Electro Mobility Innovation and Support Center (SGEC) coordinates activities of the German-Chinese cooperation on electric mobility. The SGEC was established in 2018 and is jointly supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the P.R. China (MoST).

Scientific exchange and implementation of market-oriented demonstration projects are organized in four thematic areas: Battery Electric Mobility, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Mobility, Safety, and Integration of Renewable Sources of Energy. In this context, DCI is responsible for the R&D projects in the field of Battery Electric Mobility, working directly with Project Management Jülich (PtJ) and the National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW).
