Revision of the run-of-river power plant Burgkhammer
Overview
Vattenfall Europe Generation AG reconditioned the BurgkhammerRun-of-River Hydropower Plant in the Free State of Thuringia, which went into operation in 1936. The two run-of-river turbines, each with an output of 1.1 MW, were subjected to a comprehensive overhaul in 2005/2006. In addition to the main mechanical components, the complete electrical and I&C equipment was upgraded to meet the state of the art.
Within the scope of this project, Dornier Power and Heat was commissioned with engineering services for the lots of I&C and turbine controllers, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, 20kV connection and excitation, and protection systems.
