Co-determination: Youth mobility in rural areas
Although young people in particular are dependent on mobility beyond the car, there are currently hardly any opportunities for them to influence mobility developments.
This is exactly what has been changed in a three-year (2019-2022) model project. Together with transport experts and the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, young people investigated the potential for improving public transport in their hometown of Wilhelmsfeld near Heidelberg, Germany. The project team took a close look at regional bus services in particular. See what the collaboration looked like:

The project findings were also summarized in the German book “Jugendliche gestalten den ÖPNV – Ein Praxisbuch für die Jugendarbeit und Kommunalpolitik” [which will be published on April 25].
We are very happy that Dornier could be part of this exciting project and share our passion for mobility with the young people. Thank you very much for the cooperation!
