Higher network capacity with minimal investment costs. Solution #2: Adjusting voltage set points and using local network transformers.
In yesterday’s post, we talked about voltage deviations that needed to be resolved. Since replacing the overhead lines would not give the desired result, the next step was to investigate other methods.
Setting new, individual voltage setpoints for the transformers is one possibility. To decouple individual problematic network nodes, so-called controllable local network transformers are also used.
The combination of these two approaches can solve the voltage problems in all scenarios, but about 6% of the cable and overhead line routes would still have to be replaced.
So, there is further potential for improvement, more on this tomorrow!
