Chinese delegation visiting Berlin

On July 9, there was an exciting visit to Dornier Power and Heat in Berlin! A Chinese delegation led by the National Energy Administration and the Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute CO, LTD was on site. Organized by GIZ, the experts had an intensive exchange about the flexibility of coal-fired power plants.

Udo Gade and Ronald Rost provided insights into how Moorburg and Jänschwalde were made flexible. The guests were particularly interested in the measures for rapid load regulation and the reduction of minimum output. In China, 50% of the large coal-fired units have already been made flexible – some even to 20% minimum load! The information that the power plant units in Moorburg and Jänschwalde have now been shut down was met with astonishment.

Finally, Frank Schulze presented the innovative P2M solution for online monitoring and predictive maintenance. These technologies help to reduce costs and CO2 emissions and are a real game changer for plant operators!
