UN SDG Goal 7 – Affordable and clean energy
After introducing the sixth goal of the UN Sustainable Development Goals last week, today we are focusing on the seventh goal, which deals with access to sustainably generated energy. Among other things, it calls for an increase in the global share of renewable energies and simplified access to them.
Our two Business Units Renewables and Power and Heat are planning experts in this field and provide support in switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. What can this look like?
For a customer in the mining sector, for example, we have ensured that a large proportion of the diesel generators can be switched off during the day and the operation is instead powered by solar energy. Not only does this solution save huge amounts of fuel and emissions, it has also reduced operating costs.
With concepts like these, which are not only more environmentally sustainable but also more economically viable for our customers, we are making our contribution to the energy transition.
